Halogen-IR Lamp Development: A System Approach

The objective of this paper is to highlight the constraints on halogen lamp design introduced by the use of infrared reflecting filters. The sections that follow describe the potential benefits and solutions to design constraints imposed by the use of IR-reflecting thin-film filters. The role of modeling in defining the critical variables that influence lamp performance is accented.
