HVAC and the Envelope: Towards New Rules of Thumb

This presentation identifies typical characteristics of high-performance HVAC systems, which include: separating ventilation from temperature control, simple local controls, and ability to amend to low temperature heating and higher temperature cooling. It traces the development and integration of HVAC design with envelope design from the 1950s until today, and offers a number of case studies from the MMM Group.
