Restoring Airtightness and Weather-Resistance to Window and Curtain Wall Systems

This presentation presents a number of case studies detailing retrofit of curtainwall systems. It explains two methods of restoring airtightness and weather resistance: cap bead repair and gasket overlay. It also presents a step-by-step protocol for accomplishing these methods, the results of which are tested for air leakage in accordance with ASTM E283, and water leakage in accordance with ASTM E331 or ASTM E547.
