Overview of Scientific Aspects of Spatial Cognition: Significance in Architectural Design

The author advocates for architects to understand various scientific aspects of spatial cognition in order to design spaces that invoke the spatial experience intended by the designer; investigates the current literature on human spatial cognition; highlights the implications of these findings in the process of spatial design and planning; summarizes the different computational models of the cognitive processes; and concludes by proposing a framework.
