The Other Half of the Project: The Need for Labor Research in Architectural Theory and Pedagogy

This paper reviews architectural theories of construction labor in architecture. A case study illustrates that labor research is a meaningful basis for design decision-making and can help the architect perceive connections between their work and its social context. The paper concludes by recommending integration of labor research into school pedagogy.
