Computation of the Effective Intensity of Flashing Lights
Dec 01, 1957
It is generally recognized that when a light signal consists of separate flashes, the instantaneous intensity during the flashes must be greater than the intensity of a steady light in order to obtain threshold visibility. This paper discusses several computations for the visual range of a flashing light and was prepared as part of the work in the development of aviation ground lighting.
